Leading machinery automation company Tongtai and motorcycle manufacturer KYMCO recently announced a major partnership to build the first smart production lines in Taiwan that manufacture various motorcycle components.
The two companies are reported to invest around US$15.7 million into the project, which is expected to greatly boost the overall competitiveness of Taiwan's motorcycle industry.
According to Tongtai, the entire project is set to take two years and six months from start to finish.
The two companies will develop smart production lines that can be immediately incorporated into existing manufacturing methods.
The project will include the development of smart production line planning and management systems, supply chain integration services and the accompanying software, as well as data applications and process optimization solutions.
More details will be announced by the two companies in March 2018, the official launch time of the project.
