Taiwan has recently been facing the most severe water shortage conditions in 56 years, causing huge impacts on water supply for people’s livelihood, agriculture and fishery, manufacturing, and even high-tech industries. To stabilize the situation throughout Taiwan, our government has already implemented a series of backup plans, including the dispatch of water distribution mains, the construction of seawater desalination plants, the digging of drought-resistant wells and the adoption of water-saving measures. To provide all-round solutions to stabilize water resources, the 3rd Taiwan International Water Week (TIWW) will start to accept registration for exhibition by manufacturers from now on, in a hope to create an excellent B2B professional display platform. Aside from the three-day physical exhibition to be held at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 from October 14 to 16, the TIWW Online trade show will be also held at the same time, so that exhibitors can use this online exhibition to contact buyers from all over the world.
Focusing on water reclamation and wastewater treatment and purification, the TIWW will exhibit the water purification and treatment devices on the end-user side, the applications of whole plant equipment and the latest innovations. Meanwhile, the TIWW Online exhibition, an innovative digital service mode, will be launched for the first time from October 14 to November 12 this year. Through the virtual booths which combine audio-visual and 3D methods to fully display the exhibits, buyers from home and abroad can interact and chat with the exhibitors in the real-time video procurement negotiations, as if they were visiting the physical exhibition hall in person. This physical and virtual dual-track trade show must be able to boost the international visibility for exhibitors and double up the benefits of the exhibition. During the exhibition, in addition to the international forum hosted by Water Resources Agency, MOEA, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) will also conduct industry seminars, popular product launches, government procurement meetings, procurement meetings for foreign buyers, and other diversified activities. Water-related suppliers and manufacturers are welcome to register for the exhibition. Those who sign up before June 15 will enjoy the early bird discount.
According to the forecast of the Global Water Intelligence (GWI), the total economic value of the global aquaculture industry will reach US$914.9 billion by 2023, while many countries are also eager to find the best solution to water scarcity due to accelerated climate change. In fact, there are abundant business opportunities in the construction of recycling facilities such as desalination, wastewater treatment and reuse, rainwater storage, and the replacement of leaky pipelines.
Despite the impact of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the TIWW was successfully held in Taipei, winning very high praise from such industry-indicator exhibitors as GSD Technologies, FineTek, Advantech Technology and important domestic and foreign buyers including ITOCHU (CIPS), Tokyo Metropolitan Waterworks, Xylem, TSMC, Foxconn and Formosa Plastics Group. Moreover, the One on One Online Procurement Meetings held during the trade fair also played the matchmaking role to bring domestic suppliers to meet with overseas buyers from India, The United Arab Emirates, China, Philippines, Vietnam and other countries.
This year's TIWW, which will be hosted both online and offline, will bring together companies from the upstream, midstream, and downstream of water resources to exhibit their new products and release their technology. There will be also seminars to promote the industry-government-academic exchanges and accurately match the domestic and foreign suppliers and buyers for online meetings. The hybrid trade fair will be surely a blue-ocean strategy to help industry players expand new markets.
