Organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (MOEA), and implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the first-ever Taiwan Mobile Elite Award (2014 TMEA) was held at the TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall from December 4th to 6th.

TMEA is the first event of its kind in Taiwan. It combines award, competition, forums, and business matching service into one major industry platform. The highlight of the first ever TMEA was a 42 hour coding marathon that pitted teams of talented game programmers in Taiwan against each for the grand prize.

At the end of the 3 day competition, it was team DCT 6 Mass who took home the US$3300 top prize. Moreover, the winning team was given a 6 month startup consultation service and support, sponsored by DIT Startup. Each team member also received a one year subscription of the Unity Pro License, sponsored by Unity Technologies.

According to the panel of judges, the gaming creation by DCT 6 Mass stood out among the 25 contenders. Their work featured elements of augmented reality and was a highly finished product with great commercial values, said the judges.

High profile game developers and distributors from 18 countries in the fields of TV, mobile, browser, and online games were invited to join the 2014 TMEA. Among them were SEGA Corporation, Ambition Co., Ltd., Soha Game (VCCorp.), Passion Republic Sdn. Bhd., Sproing Interactive Media GmbH, and SKAY SOLUTIONS S.A. DE C.V..
