LED EXPO is India's foremost event in the field of LED lighting, components and technologies. Inaugurated on November 30, 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) led six Taiwanese companies to participate in the event. The exhibition showcased LED components, LED modules, LDMS service plans, LED second optical lens and LED lighting measurements, including well-known products from Taiwan, serving to generate interest among overseas buyers.
This year’s participants - EDISON OPTO, B&M Optics, YONGTEK, LEDLINK OPTICS, MEAN WELL ENTERPRISES and OPTIMUM OPTOELECTRONICS - continue to engage the Indian market, pertaining to an estimated future market opportunity of US$11.28 million. Organized by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd., the show is regarded as one of the most influential events in the LED products and technology industry, and gathered over 370 companies showcasing their latest price-competitive LED solutions for the Indian market. Beyond Indian participants, the event saw exhibitors from 10 countries including China, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the UAE, and the US, leading to an increase of 75% in the participation of international exhibitors.
According to a report by Pike Research, a US-market research institute, sales of LED lighting in the Asia Pacific region will see rapid growth over the next 10 years. The report suggests that post-2015, the market will enter a phase of expedited growth. As India is the sixth largest energy-consuming country in the world - accounting for 3.4% of global energy consumption - India's LED market will also constitute a significantly influential market.
