TAIWAN FOOD SHINES AS GOLDEN SHRINE
in THAIFEX 2019
Taiwan Pavilion, organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), will join the 16th WORLD of FOOD ASIA, also known as THAIFEX 2019, from May 28th to June 1st in the Impact Exhibition Center, Bangkok. Taoyuan City Government, and the Taiwan Regional Association of Preserved Fruits, the Taiwan Confectionery, the Biscuit & Floury Food Industry Association, and the Taiwan Quality Food Association, plus 21 quality and certified suppliers/manufacturers from Taiwan will attend together in the same show.
The Taiwan Frozen Food Processors Association, Food Association of Taiwan, the Taiwan Food & Pharmaceutical Machinery and other 11 Taiwan exhibitors will participate THAIFEX individually. With a total of 87 Taiwanese suppliers, Taiwan showcased diversity Taiwan foods, such as beverage, healthy drink, snack, tea, bubble tea, frozen food, canned food, seasoning and so on.
THAIFEX, held by the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand (DITP), the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) and Koelnmesse acts as a networking platform to international food players from ASEAN, middle east, and Asia. Thaifex 2019 attracts more than 2,700 exhibitors from more than 40 countries, including Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Australia, USA, Germany and Italy to exhibit special trends focusing on Halal, organic, innovation, and food experience.
Thanks to economic robust and global trend, ASEAN’s demand for processed food, foreign food, and health food increased. Taiwanese delegations, such as KING CAR-famous canned coffee suppliers, HEYSONG-known for its sarsi and creative tea drink, CHUANG’s KING TAY CHANG-the Square cookies supplier, GLAC BIOTECH for its novel Probiotics products, CHENG YUAN-the organic snacks and energy drink, DOUBLE GREAT-health fungus drink supplier, PIAO I-tea supplier with ZEN and health concept etc. will attend THAIFEX for expecting trade opportunity contributed by ASEAN. Buyers’ are welcome to visit TAIWAN Pavilion at booth No. J02 in Hall 6.
According to statistics offered by Taiwan Custom, the amount of food exported from Taiwan to ASEAN reached 1.2 billion last year. Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Cambodia, are top 10 countries of Taiwan food export market 2018, which reveals that ASEAN has already become the main market to Taiwan. Based on IHS Markit (IHS) global economic growth forecast, ASEAN is expected to grow by 4.8 % in 2019.
